A&D Medical, Tactio to Optimize Home Health System
A&D Medical announced that it has collaborated with Tactio Software for integrating its medical devices with Tactio TargetWeight PRO application for iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad, to arrive at a complete home health system.

Qualcomm Launches Mobile Health Company, New Cloud Medical Data Platform
Qualcomm has announced it will form a new subsidiary, called Qualcomm Life, to manage the development of the company's mobile health platforms.

Jean Coutu enables photo prints via iPhone
LONGUEUIL, Quebec - The Jean Coutu Group has introduced Jean CoutuPhoto Boutique, a new mobile application function that lets iPhone users order photo prints on the go.
The Quebec drug store chain said Thursday that the new photo service, designed for the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad mobile platforms, is a first among Canadian pharmacies.
With Jean CoutuPhoto Boutique, iPhone users can take photos with their integrated camera; add photos from albums; modify the photos; select, share or print formats; share photos by e-mail; post photos on Facebook or Twitter; or have photos printed for pickup at the nearest Jean Coutu pharmacy.
"We are very proud to add this new function to our Jean Coutu application. In cooperation with Tactio Software, we have created a state-of-the-art iPhone application that allows our customers to print their photos more easily," Alain Lafortune, senior vice president of purchasing and marketing at the Jean Coutu Group, said in a statement. "More and more people use a smartphone, so it had become important to position ourselves at the technological forefront and remain a leader in our sector."
In addition, the application enables users to consult Info-Med, a new medication information service, to synchronize and update the list of Jean Coutu stores; refill prescriptions; pinpoint the nearest five Jean Coutu pharmacies and select a favorite stores; view the stores on a map and get directions by car, on foot or via public transit; play the Jean Coutu jingle by touching the PJC logo on the greeting page; and register a Jean Coutu gift card and Air Miles collector's numbers, according to the retailer.

Tactio has reached One Million Users!
Today at mHealth Initiative in Chicago, Tactio has announced that it has hit its first 1,000,000 users of its mobile health apps. From market estimates it means that Tactio mobile health apps are running on approximately one iPhone for every hundred iPhones out there. Tactio was invited to make two presentations to this conference. First was called "mHealth unleashes Pharmacy 2.0" where Tactio explained how mHealth technologies are driving a profound change of paradigm in the retail pharmacy market. Then the second presentation was "mHealth is the new lifestyle diet" where Tactio explained how mHealth technologies are helping people diet not by eating less food or counting calories, but rather by slowly being driven to new standards of living, making weekly tiny changes to their lifestyle for ultimately living a healthier life.

Longueuil, June 25, 2010 - The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc. has launched the first application in Canada allowing the refilling of prescriptions from a smart phone without going through a mobile website. Designed for iPhones and iPods Touch, the Jean Coutu APP offers the user the possibility of having his prescriptions or those of a family member refilled in a few easy steps.
The user creates his own profile, selects his favourite pharmacy, enters the number of the prescription he wishes to have refilled, selects the time he will pick up his medication at the pharmacy and then forwards all information to his pharmacist. Registered and secured over the phone, the personal information provided by the user is protected by a password and this data is used for prescription refill purposes only.
